Styling A Toteme Knit Dress

Knitted dresses are an elevated way to do a winter date night or outing. Here we style an asymmetric knit from Toteme.

Today we style an asymmetric Toteme knit dress while shopping my closet. I've chosen this beautiful, buttery leather trenchcoat from Hush as I play with textures while keeping things polished. This coat is all leather, no hardware.

Staying in the colour family, a tan faux leather clutch from Anthropologie (sold out) adds even more elegance to this look. Oversized clutches are big news for 2024 so this one checks that box.

A tricolour 18k Trinity Ring from Cartier cheats the silver jewellery trend somewhat, given that it’s white gold, but we’ve got the look as silver continues to take the spotlight in the sartorial world. Mixing metals is a great way to tap into the trend if you’re a gold girl. My ring stack features a new favourite - A power pinky ring in 10k gold from The M Jewelers (sold out), paired with a 14k gold midi ring and 18k gold-plated drop earrings, both from independent jewellers.

It takes some navigating but there are many small jewellers operating independently, making beautiful and affordable jewellery in precious metals; custom-made too. This is a great way to boost your local economy while acquiring more bespoke pieces to add to your collection.

Now about those drop earrings …
I’m not usually into dupes. I prefer the real deal as a mark of respect to original design work. However, given the price point of the original viral drop earrings by luxury brand crush, Bottega Veneta, I’ll have to forgive myself this time. There are gold-plated dupes a-plenty online and in-store from as low as £8.99 so you’ll have no problems finding one if your budget does not allow a purchase of the original.

Those gorgeous Bottega Veneta Heels are on Llyo’s Wishlist.

Replace heels with boots if spending time outdoors. Chloe makes everything exceptionally elevated and these Oli boots are currently on sale.

Alternately, style with the All Saints Neve Shrunken Slim Leather Biker Jacket. All Saints makes the best leather jackets, in my opinion. My Cargo Leather Jacket is over ten years and still going strong.

We soften the texture of our outerwear with this timeless style from &Other Stories.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t style a black option with the on trend metal-of-the-moment. High street meets high end with accessories in the form of a sterling silver ring from Mejuri’s new Puffy Charlotte line and the actual viral Bottega Veneta drop earrings in silver. Sticking with Bottega Veneta … a pouch in a go-with-everything colour. Calvin Klein gives us this stunning black leather coat and to balance things off, we’ve got boots for under £100 from Reiss.

So many ways to style a knitted dress. It’s all in the details. Just switch up your accessories and go!
