The Jewellery Edit
Jewels, gems and baubles. Their value transcends the monetary. Each piece is part of a story or will be. Jewellery possesses the power to elevate a look and a mood. From delicate layers of gold to statement-making stacks of silver, say it without words. Say it with jewels …
For centuries jewellery has held its place as the ultimate token of love, affection and adoration - A wedding band or diamond engagement ring placed on the finger said to possess a vein that leads straight to the heart, a promise ring, gifts of precious metals and gemstones for milestones like a birthday or graduation, anniversaries and days dedicated to love or festivities. These tokens of love are cherished and passed down for generations.
Bespoke jewellery lends added sentiment, for we all want something unique. And why not gift yourself that desired piece? Jewellery is personal and curating a collection that showcases your authentic self, empowering and accentuating, is not dictated by trends or what is most popular. Choose a piece that speaks to you. There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to jewellery. It’s not unseemly to buy that Cartier Love Bracelet for yourself or a friend or stack those diamond tennis bracelets and wear them by day with a tee and jeans or mix metals and pile on your favourite rings.
Dressing up and accessorizing should be fun and there’s something for everyone with a multitude of talented jewellers creating stunning, wearable works of art to make us sparkle that much more.
Let’s celebrate some of these masters of their craft.
Celebrating sixty years in the business, Yeprem has adorned some of our favourite stars with what can only be described as masterpieces. On the red carpet, on magazine covers and on stage, we’ve seen Jennifer Lopez, Sophia Vergara, Kerry Washington, Mindy Kaling and Rihanna, among others, dripping in diamond encrusted pieces concocted by this family-owned jeweller. Most recently worn by the ever-so-glam Mariah Carey at this year’s Grammy Awards, how’s that for an endorsement?
Inspired by a gold bracelet bestowed on him by his mother, founder Yeprem Chakardemian honed his skills; and at the age of just fifteen, debuted his expert craftsmanship to the world and the rest is history, as they say. Breathtaking in their design, with mesmerising detail, a Yeprem collection would make any woman swoon.
